FAQs and help center
Browse through our FAQs to find the information you need to make an informed decision about your child’s education. Not finding all of the answers you need? Our Enrollment Services teams and School Directors are here to support you with anything you may need to know before enrolling with Sunrise Preschools.

When are your centers open?
Who has access to your buildings? How do you monitor access?
The safety of the children in our care is our top priority – because of this, we have implemented numerous safety policies, procedures, and systems to protect children.
Many of our schools have keyless entry pads on the main entrances, ensuring only those who have been authorized can enter the building. Upon enrollment, parents will receive the code for their specific location. If we are notified that a friend or other family member will be picking up your child, we ensure that their identity is verified before they are able to access the building.
Do you have cameras at the schools?
Most of our locations are equipped with cameras, used by our Directors for monitoring and training purposes. In order to protect the children, we do not stream video to our website or parent mobile app.
What are your transportation safety precautions?
Sunrise Preschools aims to go above and beyond when it comes to safety measures – and that includes transportation to and from school each day.
- Our buses are manufactured to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards (heavy gauge steel construction and side impact barriers)
- The buses are also equipped with Child Scan, flashing strobe lights, and seat belts
- We also have two staff member rotation schedules to ensure that buses are checked at the end of each trip
How will my child be prepared for elementary school and beyond?
There are several ways our tailored curriculum works to prepare children for success in grade school and higher education.
- Daily activities are based on active play, creating a fun but educational environment in the classroom
- Each of our programs is built on a proprietary, research-backed curriculum called HighReach Learning
- Our activities and lessons are designed to encourage holistic development across language, literacy, science and math, motor skills, creativity, problem solving, and social, emotional, and physical skills
- After school and school break care programs are also carefully curated by early childhood development experts on our team at Sunrise Preschools
Do I need to supply my child’s food? Can I choose to do so?
As part of tuition and fees, our schools provide children with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day. We craft all of our menus using USDA guidelines for health, resulting in menus that are not only delicious, but also nutritious!
As a safety measure, we do not allow parents to send their children to school with their own food. However, menu exceptions can be made for children with documented medical, cultural, or religious reasons. If you would like to discuss your child’s special diet, you may reach out directly to your school’s Director.
Who provides the child care at Sunrise Preschools?
Our staff consists of teachers, bus drivers, cooks, and administrators who hold a genuine passion for early childhood education.
- All of our employees receive thorough background checks before starting their employment
- Most of our teachers are CPR and First Aid Certified
- Many of our teachers have received college degrees, and we support their continued learning with our Tuition Assistance Program
- We also provide year-round online courses through the Child Care Education Institute (CCEI)
What are the average ratios in your classrooms?
The ratio in each classroom is dependent on the state requirements. Sunrise Preschools adheres to all guidelines and state standards. In states with a Quality Rated program, our schools may have even lower teacher to student ratios.
How does Sunrise Preschools handle discipline?
Sunrise Preschools believes that the guiding principle for discipline is guidance, support, and influence that adults are able to have over children. We also believe that true discipline is not founded in punishment, rules, or restrictions – rather, it hinges on teaching children to resolve problems independently.
With all of this in mind, our staff and educators follow developmentally-appropriate processes for classroom discipline. To learn more, refer to our Family Handbook.
