About our curriculum
Our development-focused child care is centered around our talented smile-makers and learning-lovers – our teachers – as well as our proprietary HighReach Learning curriculum. We believe that children are able to learn best when their days are filled with exploration, play, discovery, and hands-on experiences.
In order to help children develop these essential skills and set them up for success in the future, our curriculum hinges on child-initiated play and structured activities with elements of educational lessons. This curriculum has been designed and proven to promote great starts in development, as well as giving students the opportunity to acquire essential skills that they will use throughout their lives.
Not to mention, our supportive teachers work alongside your child, encouraging them to understand the world around them, and continuously view it through a lens of wonder and curiosity.

The principles of HighReach Learning curriculum
- A child’s development begins at birth, is continuous, and is unique to each individual child.
- The heart of learning is interactions and relationships between children, their world, their families, their educators, and everyone else around them.
- Current brain research suggests that the creation of multiple connections helps infants and young children learn.
- The learning experiences and opportunities we create are purposeful, relevant, meaningful, interactive, and playful.
- Play is the avenue for learning and development, so our curriculum is based in play investigation and project-focused.
- The goal of the curriculum is for children to become able, ready, eager, and competent learners.

How Sunrise Preschools works with families and parents
In addition to providing children with a safe, comfortable space to develop into curious and successful learners, Sunrise Preschools believes in fostering strong relationships with the parents and families in our community. Our goal is to involve parents in their child’s learning journey through communication, mutual support, and collaboration – allowing us to all thrive collectively.
Our approach to early childhood education

Family involvement
Our proprietary HighReach Learning curriculum promotes the vital nature of family involvement when it comes to a child’s success in early education – after all, parents and families are childrens’ first and longest tenured teachers. Our teachers work together with families and parents for the greatest possible positive impact on their children.

In-class and at-home learning
Learning doesn’t stop outside of the four walls of Sunrise Preschools – after all, curiosity knows no end for lifelong learners! Just like our in-class programs are tailored to children’s developmental stage, the HighReach Learning curriculum includes at-home materials and activities that are designed specifically to involve parents in their child’s education.

Progress and milestones
Setting your child up for a successful life throughout grade school, college, and onward means setting and celebrating milestones along the way. Our teachers are here to nurture your child’s growth, work with families to create countless memories, and maintain a supportive and caring environment for your child to flourish during their time with us.
Child-focused education with HighReach Learning
According to research, the building blocks for academic, social, and emotional functioning are developed in children’s brains between birth and five years of age. Sunrise Preschools’ HighReach Learning curriculum is tailored to each of these developmental stages, creating an intentional learning pathway filled with skill-building activities and interactive exploration that supports children from early education, into Kindergarten, into grade school, and beyond.

Put your child on the path to success
Actively engaging children is the best way to promote healthy, developmentally appropriate learning. Parents and families are encouraged to partner with our teachers to leverage the HighReach Learning curriculum to foster a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm in each child who walks through our doors.
